WHO WE ARE

We are change from the ground up. Rethink Charity is locally led, meaning the aid we provide – and the way we deliver it – is determined entirely by the needs of conflict affected people. Our work reflects the resilience and resourcefulness of the
people we serve.

YOUR IMPACT

We built our first school in Syria at the height of conflict, when everything was being destroyed. It helped hundreds of children gain relief and resilience. Ten years on, it’s still providing the best education available to 300+ students. This is just one example of the impact of your support. Today, we’re rehousing families, providing prosthetic limbs to people wounded in conflict, empowering widows and women survivors with livelihoods, and providing post-conflict communities with trauma relief activities so that they can recover and start rebuilding again. Your impact cannot be counted.

FAQ

We are locally lead. All Rethink Charity team members live and work on the ground among the people we support. They know firsthand the challenges local people are facing as they try to rebuild their lives in conflict zones or out of the ruins of war. This means the aid we provide and how we provide it is determined entirely by the needs of crisis/conflict affected people.
We don’t believe in handouts, because these keep people dependant on aid. And no one we support wants to be dependent on aid. Even in the heat of conflict, we run development projects to provide sustainable solutions for survival. This is how Rethink is built, because this is how humans are built.

It’s time to rethink giving and make charity more efficient. We don’t promise our donors 100% donation policies. We promise them more lasting returns on their Sadaqah through lasting development for people in need. And we promise them freedom for those people from the aid-cycle that keeps them dependant on handouts. With Rethink’s Diversify Your Donation model of giving, your contributions are distributed across both short and long-term projects, ensuring the Sadaqah you give covers all key areas of impact. You can learn more below about how your donation is divided and distributed. Diversifying donations is our game-changer, and this is how we’re championing transparency in the charity sector. Through it we’re empowering our donors to support unique projects that drive sustainable change and make informed decisions about how they give.

Here’s how our Diversify Your Donation model distributes your donations across our projects, maximising the impact of your giving: Emergency Relief (5%) Income Generation (20%) Education (10%) Water (10%) Rebuild (10%) Mosques (10%) Widows (10%) Orphans (10%) Livestock (10%) Planting Trees (5%) There is no point in promising %100 donation policies if our donations are keeping people dependant on aid and unable to live with dignity. Instead, we promise you lasting returns on your Sadaqah through lasting development for people in need; and freedom for those people from the aid-cycle that keeps them reliant on handouts.
All Rethink team members live and work on the ground among the people we support. Our offices are also located close to our beneficiaries, allowing us to ensure fast project implementation and provide detailed feedback to our donors.
